Woman seated on the edge of a bed lifting her operated leg onto the mattress with the Piventra Leg Lifter strap

From Piventra™. 7,600+ customers have bought our car door handle. This is the second thing we made.

Your Leg Won't Come With You Into Bed Yet. This Strap Brings It.

You sit on the edge of the bed and your operated leg simply won't come with you. Night one or night eleven, it's the same. Patients call it dead weight. So you wait for your spouse. And you hate asking. Every night, you hate asking.

You already have the Piventra™ handle. It takes your body weight down into the car seat and back up. This is the move that comes right after: getting the leg in after you, at the car, the bed and the couch. A rigid foot loop slides over your shoe. Your arm does the lifting, with the leg kept straight, the way your therapist showed you.

$19 for one. $29 for two. $39 for three: one by the bed, one in the glove box, one at the couch.

Free shipping. Ships in 2–5 business days. Not easier the first night it's here? Send it back within 90 days for a full refund.

Piventra™ Leg Lifter — Gets Your Operated Leg Into Bed, the Car and the Couch

Piventra™ Leg Lifter — Gets Your Operated Leg Into Bed, the Car and the Couch

The Piventra™ Leg Lifter is the strap that moves your operated leg when it can't move itself.

Loop the rigid foot loop over your shoe. Hold one of the three hand loops. Let your arm lift the leg onto the bed, into the car, or up onto the couch, with the leg kept straight.

  • Rigid, shaped foot loop: slides over a shoe, a sock or a bare foot with one hand. Far less reaching.
  • Three hand loops at three heights: pull from wherever your arm reaches, seated or lying down.
  • Box-stitched webbing: the strap folds flat for a drawer or a glove box; the foot loop keeps its shape.
  • Why the rigid loop matters: you can hook it one-handed while sitting upright, and the three loops mean it works for short arms and long ones.
  • In the box: 1, 2 or 3 Piventra™ Leg Lifters in Piventra green, depending on the bundle you choose.

Free shipping. 90-day money-back guarantee. Ships in 2–5 business days.

This is a mobility aid, not a medical device. Follow your surgeon's and therapist's instructions.

Why we built it to be kept where you sit:

  • ✅ Get your leg into bed without waking anyone up
  • Far less reaching for your foot: the loop stays open
  • ✅ Works on the bed, the car footwell, the couch and the pillow stack
  • Three hand loops: pull from wherever your arm reaches
  • ✅ Slides over a shoe, a sock or a bare foot, one-handed

The leg gets stuck in three places: the bed, the car and the couch. One at each, so you never have to carry it.

Why the Leg Won't Lift Yet

After a hip replacement, the muscles around the new joint are swollen and sore. Depending on how your surgeon worked, some were moved aside and are still healing. Pain and swelling turn the lift off for a while. After a knee replacement, swelling does the same to the thigh muscle.

Your surgeon and therapist can tell you where you are. What patients describe again and again is a leg that just won't answer yet.

Still lifting it by hand at day ten? You're not behind, and this strap is exactly for that. Were you told not to bend past 90 degrees? Reaching down to your own ankle is that bend. With the strap, the loop stays open, so you meet your foot instead of bending to your ankle.

Already past the first weeks? The leg still needs help up onto the pillow stack and into the footwell, and the strap keeps doing that job long after the first night. If the other hip or knee is on the calendar, it's the one thing to have in the house before day one.

This is a mobility aid, not a medical device. If something feels wrong, such as new numbness, a pop, or sudden severe pain, call your surgeon's office.

The one thing I could not have done without

"Get this! I recently had a hip replacement. This is the one thing I could not have done without. There was no way I could have lifted my leg without help if I hadn't purchased this leg lifter. Having handles at different levels makes it easy to use. If you're facing any kind of surgery where your leg will have muscle weakness, you need this thing. Best thing I did for my recuperation."

I could do it myself without calling for help

"Post op, there are restrictions that require keeping your legs together and not extending the surgical leg out to the side alone. This made getting in and out of bed so easy and I could do it myself without needing to call for help to swing my leg in or out. It also helped with getting my leg up and onto a stack of pillows. I especially love the multiple handles that run along the length."

Game changer after two knee replacements

"After two total knee replacements this product was a game changer. One end is a horizontal and rigid loop so you can easily capture your foot to raise or lower it. I didn't need it for a long time, but for that period of severe pain and lack of muscle coordination it was perfect."

Cheryl A. — two total knee replacements

One for the car, two for the house

"The foot opening works well regardless of shoes or no shoes, and the multiple loops for your hands make such a difference. I bought multiple, one for the car, and two for different rooms in the house. We have to buy these kinds of things during hard times when we are recovering, and the things that work well just really help."

You came home with the walker, the raised toilet seat and the grabber. The leg lifter is on the same list: Alberta Health Services' hip replacement guide puts it among the equipment to have ready one to two weeks before surgery. Many people find out it's missing on the first night home from the hospital.

Already home and still lifting your leg by hand? That's exactly the moment it's for.

  • Woman using the Piventra Leg Lifter beside her walker in a bright bedroom
  • Rigid foot loop of the Piventra Leg Lifter sliding over a walking shoe

    Loop It Over Your Foot

Sit on the edge of the bed or the car seat. Slide the rigid foot loop over your shoe or foot. It holds its shape, so it goes on with one hand.

  • Seated woman pulling the hand loop to lift her straight leg onto the bed

Pull With Your Arm, Keep the Leg Straight

Hold whichever hand loop your arm reaches. Bring the good leg up first, then lift the operated leg up and over with the strap, kept straight, the way your therapist showed you. That's it.

From Piventra™ — the company behind the handle in your glove box

The handle takes your body weight. The lifter moves your leg. The handle carries you down into the car seat and back up — on your first real outing, and every PT trip after. The leg lifter covers the move that comes right after, at the car, the bed and the couch: the moment the leg has to follow you and won't. Here's why the two belong together, and why we offer more than one.

  • Man resting in bed with his operated leg on a pillow and the leg lifter strap beside him

Moves the Leg Surgery Put on Pause

After a hip or knee replacement, the muscles that lift the leg are swollen and sore, and pain and swelling turn the lift off for a while. Until it comes back, the strap lets your arm do the lifting: no straining, no waiting for someone.

  • Woman sitting upright on the bed edge holding the leg lifter hand loops, foot loop over her shoe

Far Less Reaching for Your Foot

Reaching down for your ankle is the bend many patients are told to avoid. With the strap, you meet your foot instead of bending to your ankle, and the leg comes up straight.

  • Piventra™ Leg Lifter — Gets Your Operated Leg Into Bed, the Car and the Couch

    Independence on Night One

It's 3 a.m. and the leg has to come back up onto the bed. With the strap by the bed, you do it yourself, without waking anyone up.

  • Piventra™ Leg Lifter — Gets Your Operated Leg Into Bed, the Car and the Couch

    Three Hand Loops, Not One

One loop gives you one place to pull from. Three loops give you three: from the chair, from the pillow, with the knee bent, with short arms or long ones.

  • Piventra™ Leg Lifter — Gets Your Operated Leg Into Bed, the Car and the Couch

A Foot Loop You Can Hook One-Handed

A loop that goes soft has to be worked around your foot, which means leaning forward or asking for help. Ours holds its shape, so it slides over a shoe or a bare foot in one motion.

  • Piventra™ Leg Lifter — Gets Your Operated Leg Into Bed, the Car and the Couch

Your Hands Are on the Walker — So Put One Where You Sit

Yes, it folds flat. But folded flat in the bedroom drawer is no help when you're stuck on the couch at 8 p.m. and the walker needs both hands. That's why we offer three: one by the bed, one in the glove box next to your handle, one at the couch.

  • Use It the First Night It Arrives

If it isn't easier than lifting the leg with your hands, send it back within 90 days and we'll refund you: the same guarantee that came with your handle.

Until it arrives, use the technique your therapist showed you: good leg first, operated leg kept straight, a helper guiding at the ankle if you have one.

Have Questions? We Have Answers!

I'm on hip precautions. Can I use this?

That's the situation a leg lifter is used for: the loop goes on while you sit upright, so you're not reaching down to your ankle, and the leg comes up straight. Your surgeon and therapist set your precautions; check the transfer sequence with them.

Does it work after a knee replacement too?

Yes. After a knee replacement, swelling can switch the thigh muscle off for a while, so the leg won't lift on its own. The strap lifts it straight, onto the bed or into the car. For your bending exercises, follow your therapist's instructions.

I'm two weeks in and still lifting my leg by hand. Is it too late for this?

No. You're not behind. The leg gets easier, but until it does, this is what moves it. After that it keeps earning its place: getting the leg up onto the pillow stack, into the car, and for some of the exercises your therapist gave you.

Do I have to bend down to get my foot in?

Far less than reaching for your ankle. The foot loop is rigid and shaped, so it keeps its opening. Sit up, slide it over your shoe with one hand, and lift.

Does it work with shoes on, or bare feet?

Both. The loop is wide enough for a shoe and comfortable on a sock or a bare foot.

Why would I need three?

Because right now both your hands are on the walker, and the leg gets stuck in three places: the bed, the car and the couch. With one at each, you never have to carry it or call someone to fetch it. And they don't all retire together: the car one stays in the glove box for PT trips and check-ups long after the bed one is done, and if the other hip or knee is booked, you already have it. The 3-pack is $39, which is $13 each.

I already had my surgery. Should I still order it?

Yes. It's built for the day you're home and discover the leg won't come with you. It ships in 2–5 business days. And if the other hip or knee is on the calendar, this is the one thing to have in the house before day one: it's on the list of equipment patients are told to have ready before surgery.

I bought the handle before surgery and haven't used it yet. Do I need this too?

They cover two different moves. The handle waits in the car for your first outing and carries your body weight down into the seat and back up. The leg lifter is for tonight: the bed is where the leg gets stuck first, and the strap is what moves it. One for the car door, one for the leg.

What does shipping cost?

Nothing. Shipping is free on every bundle, and every order ships in 2–5 business days.

Can my spouse or caregiver use it to help me?

Yes. A helper can guide your leg with the hand loops instead of lifting it by the ankle — gentler on you and easier on their back. But the point is that you won't need to wait for them.

What if it doesn't help me?

Send it back within 90 days for a full refund, no questions asked. And if you have any trouble, our support team answers every message.
